KING OF THE GYPSIES SHOT; 'Boxer' lured to pub by gunmen.

JIMMY 'The Boxer' Quinn McDonagh, Ireland's King of the Travellers, has been shot in a punishment-style attack in his local pub.

Bare-knuckle fighter Quinn McDonagh was lured to The Spinning Wheel bar in Dundalk, Co Louth, where five hooded men invited him to go with them.

When he refused, he was forced to the floor and shot once in the back of his leg.

A second shot was fired but missed as Quinn McDonagh, bleeding heavily from the bullet wound, struggled to his feet in an attempt to escape.

He was last night recovering in hospital as detectives investigated what appeared to be a motiveless attack on the man who can earn up to pounds 20,000 a fight.
