KINARK ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS

 TULSA, Okla., July 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Kinark Corporation (AMEX: KIN) today elevated three senior executives to head up its galvanizing and chemicals businesses and disclosed that Harry D. Jones, president, has announced that he will retire at the end of July. Paul R. Chastian, chairman and chief executive officer of Kinark, said that "Mr. Jones will continue to serve as a board member and be available in a consulting role."
 Brett R. Goff, 37, was named president of Boyles Galvanizing Company in Hurst, Texas. Mr. Goff joined Boyles in 1982 as a manufacturing supervisor and rose through the ranks to group vice president in 1990 responsible for four of Boyles' six galvanizing plants. He presently serves as president of the board of directors of the American Galvanizing Association, the trade association representing the after fabrication hot dip galvanizing industry.
 Glenn J. Gibisch, 40, was named president of Lake River Corporation in Chicago. Mr. Gibisch has been vice president and general manager of Lake River's bulk liquid terminal business since 1984. He serves on the board of directors and is secretary of the Independent Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA), and was chairman of ILTA's annual trade show conference held in Houston in 1992 and 1993.
 Mark F. Friedlein, 37, was named president of Kinpak, Inc. in Montgomery, Ala. Mr. Friedlein has been vice president and general manager of Kinpak's specialty chemicals packaging business since 1990. Under Mr. Friedlein's leadership, for the second year in a row, Kinpak was named the outstanding antifreeze packer in the nation for Shell Chemical Company, receiving Shell's 1992 "Quality Partnership Award."
 The company also named J. Bruce Lancaster, 37, of Tulsa to the newly created post of vice president - finance at the corporate level. Mr. Lancaster joined Kinark in 1989 and is currently treasurer and controller.
 Mr. Chastain said that "In their new assignments the operating executives will report directly to me. With the addition of new board members, Richard E. Baierlein, Michael T. Crimmins, Mark E. Walker and Richard C. Butler, joining Harry Jones and myself, Kinark will refocus its attention on expansion and enhancement of its existing businesses. The changes in management announced today will place more responsibility in the hands of the younger, yet seasoned management team that Kinark is fortunate to have. We are also very pleased that Mr. Jones will not only remain on the Kinark board after retirement but will also be available for consultation, giving the company the benefit of his twenty years of experience with Kinark."
