Hanawalt said there was a ``total breakdown'' between Harbridge, Goldstein and the defense attorney's investigator.

``If there ever was a case that needed a cooling off period before sentencing, it's this one,'' Hanawalt said.

Ventura Superior Court Judge Vincent O'Neill granted the request and set sentencing for June 6.
