Breeding Compound's Feline Conservation Center will host its second annual Kids Day fundraiser, aimed at teaching youths how they can contribute to preserving endangered wild felines. The event runs from 10a.m. to 4p.m. Nov.18. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for children. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Featured will be live animal shows, pony rides and a ``train'' ride through areas not available to the general public, including viewing the center's two tigers, Caesar and Jasmine, and two jaguar cubs, Rosa and Poncho. The event will also feature activity areas and an information scavenger hunt scavenger hunt n. Proceeds will benefit ongoing breeding programs, maintenance and construction expenses and the care and feeding of the center's feline residents. The 29-year-old nonprofit compound is home to more than 70 wild felines, including tigers, jaguars, leopards and smaller, lesser-known varieties such as sand cats and fishing cats. It cooperates in breeding programs with zoos around the world.
