KIDS CLUBS FORMING TO BOOST COLLEGE SPORTS.

LANCASTER - The Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties.  athletic department is forming a children's fan club to encourage youth support of college sports.

PALMDALE - Palmdale Parent Participating Preschool, a nonprofit agency located at 1737 E. Ave. R, is seeking financial support from businesses and individuals to sponsor scholarships.

The school is supported by tuition, mandatory parent participation and some fund raising, said director Cathi McLaughlin. Tuition is $70 a month for three days of classes a week, or $60 for two days.

The types of guest speakers needed to share career and life experiences include firefighters, librarians, dentists, bakers, professional storytellers, law enforcement officers and ambulance drivers, McLaughlin said.

LANCASTER - Antelope Valley College artist Rich Sim will present slide photographs and a video on American architecture at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Room 302 at the campus, 3041 W. Ave. K.

Sim has gathered material during extensive tours of Arizona and Pennsylvania. The show will provide insight into attempts to create functional buildings that fit well with the natural environment.
