Simon Safety is traveling throughout the United States promoting safety at home and at play through the sponsorship of 3 Day Blinds. He also is looking for more safety tips.

So, if you're an elementary school student age 12 or younger, you are encouraged to submit three of your own safety tips for ``Simon Safety's Top 10 Safety Tips.''

Ten safety tips will be chosen from all the entries. It is possible that more than one safety tip will be accepted from the same person.

Winners will receive an iMac computer, while their parents will receive a $500 shopping spree from 3 Day Blinds.

Sing with Joanie

Award-winning children's entertainer Joanie Bartels performs songs from her new release ``Adventures With Family and Friends'' at ZanyBrainy stores this weekend.

Musical art

The artistry of more than 15 world-renown picture book, editorial and cartoon illustrators who have musical themes in their work will be on display in the Storyopolis art gallery Saturday through March 15, as part of the ``Concerts on Canvas: A Celebration of Music in Art.'' The exhibit opens to the public Sunday.

Included in the exhibit are ``Long Live Music'' by Les Chats Peles, ``Hip Cat'' by Woodleigh Hubbard, ``Classic and Cool'' Jazz Festival poster by Calef Brown, and ``Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin'' by Marjorie Priceman.

To celebrate the exhibit's arrival and the coming Grammy awards show, the Reader's Theatre Project of the Los Angeles Children's Museum will set favorite stories to song at 2 p.m. Sunday.

More Pooh

The honey-loving bear and his best friends from the Hundred Acre Woods have a new musical video. ``Sing a Song With Pooh Bear'' arrives in stores Feb. 23 and shares old and new tunes, along with new animation, as Pooh searches for his own special song, with the help of Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore.

This collection of songs includes favorites ``Rumbly Tumbly,'' ``The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers,'' ``The Balloon Song'' and new songs such as ``Kanga Roo Hop'' and ``My Song.''

The 45-minute tape is listed for $12.99 and is available at most retail stores.

Planet conjunction

Hey, star gazers, just before 6 until minutes before 8 p.m. Tuesday, the planet Venus will be a scant one-third degree away from the planet Jupiter.

This is a great opportunity for photographers and folks interested in seeing the two planets in this position. With the use of a telescope, observers may see Venus appearing more reflective than usual. The tops of the clouds of both planets will be visible, and Jupiter's moons also will be in view.
