KIDS/SNEAK PEEK : BEAR NECESSITIES AT NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM.

Calling all kids! If you're a teddy bear lover and would like to visit the Natural History Museum, here's the deal:

Bring your favorite teddy bear to the museum at 10 a.m. Saturday. You and your stuffed pal will be admitted free for the entire day if you are also accompanied by an adult.

You will also be able to participate in a variety of contests and visit a teddy emergency room. Awards for the following categories will be given out: Tiniest Teddy, Biggest Bear, Oldest Ursus and Best Teddy/Owner Look-alikes.

The museum is at 900 Exposition Blvd., Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. . One child under age 12 will be admitted with a paid adult for Saturday only. Information: (213) 763-3466.

Veggie alert

Kids across the country are being asked by the folks at Green Giant to design or invent an original gadget (1) Slang for any hardware device, typically small. Synonymous with "gizmo."

(2) A mini application that resides on a computer desktop or personal home page, typically found in the Windows environment.
 that would make eating vegetables more enjoyable.

``Green Giant National Veggie Eating Invention Contest'' is open to kids age 5 to 12. To enter, each child must send in an official entry form and a written description, a drawing or photo of the gadget they invent to: The Green Giant National Veggie Eating Invention Contest, Lifetime Learning Systems, Inc., Box 120023, First Stamford Place, Stamford, Conn., 06912-0023. To obtain an official entry form, go to the Web site www.greengiant.com. Entries must be postmarked by Dec. 17 and received no later than Dec. 23.

Grand prize is a $5,000 Green Giant College scholarship. The top 100 entrants will receive a Green Giant prize package. All entrants will receive a certificate of merit for participating.

Sleep with the fishes

Kids 5 and older and their folks are invited to participate in a sleep-over at the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific The Aquarium of the Pacific is located in the city of Long Beach, California at the mouth of the Los Angeles River. The aquarium features a collection of over 12,500 animals representing almost 1,000 different species.  from 6:30 p.m. Nov. 19 to 7:30 a.m. Nov. 20.

Here is an opportunity to explore fish families with your own family. You will need to bring your own sleeping bag. Included in the program is a snack, cereal cereal
 or grain
