 KEYWORD ANNOUNCES KEYPAK FOR LAN MAIL SYSTEMS;
 FIRST PRODUCT TO PROVIDE REVISABLE DOCUMENT INTERCHANGE
 CALGARY, Alberta, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Keyword Office Technologies Ltd. today announced the availability of KEYpak(R) LAN Mail Viewer, the first E-mail product to offer revisable document exchange for networked PC users. Developed by the leading provider of enterprise-wide, intelligent document interchange solutions, the new product is designed to work with today's most popular LAN E-mail systems, including Lotus cc:Mail, Microsoft MS-Mail and WordPerfect Office.
 "The seamless sharing of documents in a heterogeneous hardware and software environment is an increasingly competitive and strategic asset for corporations," said Dal Bryant, Keyword president and CEO. "The latest application of KEYpak capitalizes on downsizing and the explosive growth in the LAN E-mail market. The new product gives E-mail users the capability to transfer and access revisable documents -- regardless of the hardware, software or E-mail system used."
 KEYpak LAN Mail Viewer enables E-mail users both to view and work with revisable word processing documents from more than 20 word processors that run on other networked PCs, workstations, minicomputers and/or mainframe systems.
 KEYpak LAN Mail Viewer fully and automatically translates the attached document into the recipient's word processing format, enabling the user easily to revise the data, incorporate it into another document or forward it to associates on the network.
 With KEYpak LAN Mail Viewer, users can view documents attached to mail messages simply by pressing "view" or double-clicking. The application format is detected and the viewer displays a fully formatted view of the file in a sizable window. The data can then be copied to a file, printed out as hard-copy or saved in a preferred word processor format.
 LAN Mail Viewer supports click-and-drag highlighting, allowing any portion of a viewed document to be selected and copied to a clipboard or a temporary file. Documents also can be printed fully formatted or saved in the user's format.
 "E-mail users typically have to use primitive word processing import filters or ASCII viewers to view an E-mail attachment and as a result, users don't usually bother," said Vaughn Keenan, vice president of product marketing. "With KEYpak LAN Mail Viewer, users can instantly view the contents of an E-mail attachment simply by accessing the view function -- a unique and competitive advantage."
 Unlike other universal utility viewers, KEYpak converts headers, footers, automatic table of contents, fonts and other features (increasingly common in today's compound document word processors) providing the most accurate rendering of the source document available today.
 KEYpak LAN Mail Viewer runs both as a stand-alone application, and in conjunction with E-mail systems.
 Like other KEYpak applications, the new LAN-based system provides automatic document conversion requiring no user interaction. Additional capabilities allow system administrators or advanced users to customize conversion services through configuration files. For example, configuration options are available for the default page size, i.e. specify 8 1/2 x 11 or A4 page size.
 KEYpak LAN Mail Viewer for Windows, DOS and Macintosh-based systems will ship worldwide in September. The product will be available through Keyword's direct sales force, systems integrators and value-added resellers. It requires 640KB memory for DOS-based systems, and 3MBs of disk space is recommended. The average price per user is $79 on a LAN supporting up to 50 users.
