KEY TRW BUSINESS CREDIT REPORTS NOW AVAILABLE ON DIALOG (a)
PALO ALTO, Calif., Feb. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Dialog Information Services Inc., of Palo Alto, and TRW Business Credit Services of Orange, Calif., have announced that TRW Business Credit Profiles has been added to Dialog as File 547.
TRW Business Credit Profiles combines relevant information from a variety of sources to present an accurate picture of a company's credit behavior, including both current and historical payment data, as well as legal information such as bankruptcies, tax liens and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings.
Dialog is the only on-line service on which the TRW database actually resides, rather than being offered as a gateway, resulting in enhanced search capabilities. "Mounting TRW Business Credit Profiles directly on the Dialog service allows us to integrate the file into our other search aids and products in ways not possible in a gateway arrangement," says Jim Ryan, manager of the Financial Information Group in Dialog's Business Information Division.
"Weekly database updates, performed at the same time TRW compiles their reports, gives Dialog users access to timely information combined with the most powerful search tools in the industry."
In announcing the addition of TRW Business Credit Profiles to Dialog's services, Dialog President and Chief Executive Officer Pat Tierney expressed his pleasure at the offering. "The information in these credit profiles provides a cost-effective and high-quality complement to the array of business information already on our service," said Tierney.
"The information TRW brings to us has value in a number of applications beyond credit evaluation."
Accurate credit data is essential to a wide range of business professionals, including:
-- Credit and sales managers deciding whether to extend credit or
 pursue certain accounts.
-- Financial analysts tracking short-term changes in financial
 conditions.
-- Competitive analysts examining weakening financial conditions
and/or new directions of expansion for companies.
-- M&A analysts evaluating a target's cash position, need for
 working capital, and liabilities.
-- Strategic planners performing background checks on key suppliers.
The information contained within the TRW file is of particular importance to anyone conducting corporate intelligence research. "Corporate intelligence is becoming increasingly vital to businesses that want to position themselves for growth, so our relationship with Dialog is a natural fit," says Don Lavoie, vice president and general manager of TRW Business Credit Services.
"Dialog users now have access to critical business and background information on 2.5 million of the most credit active companies from our database, enabling them to form a more comprehensive profile of potential business partners."
