KEVIN G. CONWAY, a member of the Connecticut Valley Chapter, has been named Senior Vice President, Tax, for The Seagram Company Ltd. Mr. Conway will assume responsibility for the company's global tax strategy and compliance activities. Mr. Conway joins The Seagram Company Ltd. from United Technologies Corporation (UTC (Coordinated Universal Time, Temps Universel Coordonné) The international time standard (formerly Greenwich Mean Time, or GMT). Zero hours UTC is midnight in Greenwich, England, which is located at 0 degrees longitude. ), where he served as Vice President, Taxes and Chief Tax Officer since October 1995. Prior to joining UTC in 1989, Mr. Conway held senior executive level tax, legal, and management positions in the pharmaceutical industry with Hoffman-LaRoche, Inc., Squibb Corporation, and Zenith Laboratories, Inc. He began his professional career as a trial lawyer. Mr. Conway is a magna cum laude graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University Fairleigh Dickinson University, at Florham-Madison and Teaneck-Hackensack, N.J.; coeducational; incorporated and opened 1942 as a junior college, became a four-year college in 1948 and a university in 1956. . He earned a J.D. degree from Rutgers University School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Rutgers Law Review. He also earned a LL.M LL.M Legum Magister (Master of Laws) . degree in taxation from New York University School of Law Coordinates:  The New York University School of Law (NYU Law) is the law school of New York University. Established in 1835, the school offers the J.D., LL.M., and J.S.D. . Mr. Conway was recently elected to the Board of Directors of The Tax Council.

DOUGLAS A. EYRE, a member of the Salt Lake City Chapter, has been appointed Director of Tax Compliance and Tax Accounting for Cordant Technologies Inc., where he will be responsible for all compliance activities at Cordant, including all Thiokol, Huck, and Howmet legal entities in the United States. Prior to joining Cordant, Mr. Eyre was with Coopers & Lybrand. He received his B.A. degree and master's degree in accounting from Brigham Young University Brigham Young University, at Provo, Utah; Latter-Day Saints; coeducational; opened as an academy in 1875 and became a university in 1903. It is noted for its law and business schools.  and is a certified public accountant Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

. Mr. Eyre joined TEI in 1990 as a charter member of the Salt Lake City Chapter, and is currently vice president of the chapter.

He is chairman of the Aerospace Industries Association Tax Committee and is a member of the MAPI (Mail API) A programming interface from Microsoft that enables a client application to send to and receive mail from Exchange Server or a Microsoft Mail (MS Mail) messaging system. Microsoft applications such as Outlook, the Exchange client and Microsoft Schedule use MAPI.  Tax Council II. Mr. Goldstein succeeds ARNOLD CHIET, Vice President and General Tax Counsel, who retired after a career spanning almost 35 years at Lockheed Martin. Mr. Chiet is a former president of the chapter and also served as an Institute regional vice president.

DANIEL L. KUIPERS, a member of the Chicago Chapter, has been promoted to Senior Manager of Taxes at AMSTED Industries. In his new position, Mr. Kuipers will be responsible for supervising state and federal tax compliance and audits. Mr. Kuipers earned a B.S. degree in accounting from Purdue University-Calumet, and M.S.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Indiana University--Northwest. He has been with AMSTED since 1980, and joined the Institute in 1996.

LORI A. SIEPELMEYER, current president of the Portland Chapter, has accepted a position as Corporate Tax Analyst with The Regence Group in Portland, Oregon. The Regence Group, parent of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon and related companies, is the largest regional provider of medical insurance in the Pacific Northwest. Ms. Siepelmeyer has an undergraduate degree from Winona State University Winona State University is currently in the process of implementing a program dubbed the "Learning for the 21st Century Initiative." Previously it was called "The Winona Experience," which generated some controversy, and before that "The New University.  in Winona, Minnesota, and holds a master's of taxation degree from Portland State University. She was previously employed by PG&E Gas Transmission, Northwest; Tektronix, Inc.; and Evans Products Company.
