KEY INJURY HITS CANYON: SCHANTZ OUT.Byline: GERRY GITTELSON Community Sports The rash of summer football injuries continued last week as Canyon High linebacker Andrew Schantz - considered by many one of the Southland's top college prospects - injured his ankle, forcing him to miss the high-powered Nike-sponsored passing tournament in Long Beach on Thursday. Coach Harry Welch said Schantz ``rolled his ankle'' and is out indefinitely. It is unclear how severe the injury is, and Schantz was not available for comment.
