FONTANA -- Considering Jack Roush's remarkable run of success at California Speedway The California Speedway is a two-mile, low-banked, D-shaped oval superspeedway in Fontana, California, similar to that of "sister track" Michigan International Speedway. It is located approximately 40 miles east of Los Angeles on the site of the former Kaiser Steel mill. , the NASCAR NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing), organization that sanctions American stock-car races, est. 1948. It held its first race in Daytona Beach, Fla.  team owner might as well add his handprints to the track's Walk of Fame.

Kenseth was raised in Cambridge, Wisconsin. , inducted into the Walk of Fame earlier in the day, gave the organization its fifth consecutive victory in the spring Busch Series race at the Fontana track Saturday night, leading a contingent of three Roush drivers in the top five.

"I always thought this place was so cool the way it was surrounded by run-down steel mills, and in the middle is this amazing place with perfect sod, perfect brick," Kenseth said. "I always thought it was a perfect place ever since I came out here."

. 300 in front of a crowd of about 37,000, Kenseth took the lead from Jeff Burton with 21 laps to go and extended it on a restart with 15 laps left as Casey Mears, Kyle Busch and Burton battled for second place.

When Mears finally emerged from the second- place pack, the Ford driver's 1.5-second lead was too large to overcome. Mears finished 0.484 seconds behind.

"By the time I was clear, it was a lot of ground to make up," Mears said.
