TV Asahi Corporation (株式会社 テレビ朝日 are pleased to announce collaborative TV program connecting services for mobile phone and broadcast TV, along with a terrestrial digital broadcasting Digital broadcasting is the practice of using digital data rather than analogue waveforms to carry broadcasts over television channels or assigned radio frequency bands. It is becoming increasingly popular for television usage (especially satellite television) but is having a 1-SEG services, from April 2006. KDDI and TV Asahi have been conducting on-going experiments merging and revitalizing existing service solutions offered by both in the fields of communications and broadcasting through the use of new media such as terrestrial digital broadcasting. The companies have now decided to take advantage of the launch of 1-SEG broadcasting to convert experiments carried out to date into the provision of commercial services. With the launch of 1-SEG, KDDI and TV Asahi will combine TV broadcasting and mobile phone services to: - Develop sales promotions and awareness promotions tied to advertising through television media and datacasting; - Develop TV shopping and on-line shopping by linking merchandise packages to TV program content; - Verify feasibility and effectiveness of developing on-line content linked to TV Asahi programs. - Implement trial service connecting 1-SEG service broadcast by TV Asahi to the various EZweb services offered by KDDI, and verify for future commercial production.
