) - KDDI has launched sales of the world's first mobile phone for use with "One Seg" terrestrial digital TV broadcast service for cellular and mobile phones.

The W33SA, manufactured by Sanyo Electric, features a wide (16:9) 2.4 inch QVGA (Quarter VGA) A screen resolution of 320x240 pixels, which is used on handheld devices. Although 320x240 seems half the 640x480 VGA resolution, the "quarter" comes from the total number of pixels, which is one fourth the number (320 times 240=76800; 640 times 480=307200).  large screen LCD with a clear non-double image picture and noiseless noise·less

The new handset comes replete with functions for watching television, such as compatibility with TV programming guides and an infrared function that can be used as a remote control.

The unit is also compatible with KDDI's "Hello Messenger" for real-time text, photo, and audio communication , and "Chaku Uta Full", enabled with SD-Audio music data with 3D surround sound An audio recording and playback system that uses five or more channels plus a subwoofer channel.
