KDDI, TEPCO to Offer Hikari One FTTH Service.


Tokyo, Japan, Oct 2, 2006 - (JCN) - KDDI Corporation and Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO TEPCO Tokyo Electric Power Co. (Japan) ) today announced their collaboration on Hikari One FTTH (Fiber To The Home) See FTTP.  service to NEC (NEC Corporation, Tokyo, www.nec.com, www.necus.com) An electronics conglomerate known in the U.S. for its monitors. In Japan, it had the lion's share of the PC market until the late 1990s (see PC 98).

NEC was founded in Tokyo in 1899 as Nippon Electric Company, Ltd.
 Corporation's BIGLOBE and Dream Train Internet Inc's DTI Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI)
A refinement of magnetic resonance imaging that allows the doctor to measure the flow of water and track the pathways of white matter in the brain.

As a result, BIGLOBE will now offer BIGLOBE Hikari with Hikari One, and DTI will offer a Hikari One Plan. Optional service providers include @nifty, DION, DTI and BIGLOBE.

Applications start today for BIGLOBE Hikari with Hikari One, and on October 3 for the Hikari One Plan.

KDDI and TEPCO will continue to offer high quality, high speed service for network, telephone and TV services.
