 KD EQUITIES ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION
 NEW YORK, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- KD Equities, through its


affiliate DWB Carpet Holdings, L.P. (DWB), has agreed to acquire substantially all of the assets of Dorsett Carpet Mills, Inc., Whitecrest Carpet Mills, Inc., and the Valley Division yarn spinning mill of Buck Creek Industries, Inc. Combined annual sales of the three companies are approximately $55 million.
 The combination of Whitecrest, Dorsett and the Valley Division of Buck Creek will produce a vertically integrated carpet mill dedicated to the production of high quality tufted carpets, including commercial and residential broadloom as well as replacement and OEM automotive, marine and truck carpets.
 R. Stanley Goodroe, president of Dorsett, will serve as chief executive officer of the combined operations. C. Kenneth White, president of Whitecrest, and O. Harry Rogers, president of Buck Creek, will remain active in the daily management of the business.
 Robert J. Edgreen, president of KD Equities, said, "This transaction represents the value-added type of investment that is KD's main area of focus. Moreover, we expect to bring substantial operational improvements to the combined operations going forward." Edgreen organized the successful acquisition of Synthetic Industries, Inc., a major supplier of carpet backing, on behalf of other investors in 1986. KD Equities has been actively seeking investment opportunities in the carpet industry for the last two years.
 KD Equities is the manager of the New York-based investment partnership dedicated to the acquisition and strategic management of manufacturing, distribution and selected service businesses across a broad range of industries. KD Equities was formed in 1983 by the general partners of Kellner, DiLeo & Co., as their private equity investment vehicle.
