Subsidiary company of Turner Broadcasting Systems. It was created by Ted Turner in 1980 to present 24-hour live news broadcasts, using satellites to transmit reports from news bureaus around the world.
 executive Sid Bedingfield to develop programming for the network's "public square" service. Job one is to produce a pilot for a nightly one-hour news magazine show called Global Watch. Public Square is a joint venture between KCET KCET Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo (Japan)
KCET Kamaraj College of Engineering and Technology
 and KQED-TV in San Francisco.
