KAZAKHSTAN - KazEnergy.Fourteen new members in May 2006 entered the KazEnergy Association. Among them are such IOCs as Chevron, Shell, ENI, Total, LUKoil, PetroKazakhstan, StatoilHydro, Repsol/YPF, JSC ??zMunayTeniz, ?rnaoil LLP, Mercury LLP, JSC ?tyrau Oil Refinery Plant, the Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas, and the energy companies KEGOC, ?MG-Energo and ??S. The Kazakhstan Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs is related to KazEnergy. Both are advisory bodies with considerable influence in Kazakhstan. Their members include President Nazabayev. The chairman of the KazEnergy Association is Kulibayev. The KazEnergy Association was formed in November 2005 with the aim of creating favourable conditions for development of the petroleum and energy complex in Kazakhstan. The Kazakhstan Petroleum Association: The KPA is another influential lobby for local and foreign petroleum companies. It holds annual receptions for the country's VIPs. |
