KAUFMANN'S ANNOUNCES PLANS TO ACCEPT BANKCARDS IN ALL STORES

 PITTSBURGH, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Effective Monday, Aug. 16, Kaufmann's Department Stores will accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover, in addition to Kaufmann's credit card, it was announced today.
 President and CEO William T. Tobin said, "Our customers have asked for a choice when it comes to credit card usage. They will now have the ability to use both a Kaufmann's card, as well as Visa, Mastercard and Discover. We are pleased to offer this added convenience for our current and new customers."
 There are a total of 40 Kaufmann's stores with 19 in Ohio, 11 in upstate New York, nine in western Pennsylvania and one in West Virginia. Kaufmann's is one of the largest divisions of its parent company, The May Department Stores Company (NYSE: MA).
