KAUFER MILLER COMMUNICATIONS: NEW PUBLIC RELATIONS AGENCY TO FOCUS ON COMMUNICATIONS FOR TECHNOLOGY-BASED COMPANIES

BELLEVUE, Wash., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaufer Miller Communications Inc., a Bellevue-based full-service public relations agency, announced its opening today. Company co-founders David Kaufer and Pam Miller said that the agency's initial focus will be supporting corporate and product communications efforts for technology-based companies.
"Kaufer Miller Communications is dedicated to achieving quality results through technology savvy, customer understanding and creativity," said Miller. "Communicating a company's vision and its benefits has become a very sophisticated and complicated process. Our goal is to help our clients communicate their messages, and to develop programs that contribute to their business success."
Kaufer added, "We will earn a reputation as a high-quality, full- service public relations agency that provides excellent results in a professional manner. Although there are a number of companies that currently provide public relations services, we have found that there is a strong demand for a new agency that clearly understands both technology and the communications process."
Both founders have a strong background in the technology communication industry. Kaufer was most recently with Waggener Edstrom, the Northwest's largest public relations agency, where he was responsible for the management of a number of accounts, including Asymetrix Corp. and Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL). Kaufer has also worked with Sequent Computer Systems, CH2M HILL Inc. (the nation's largest environmental engineering firm) and Tektronix Inc. He also worked in Tektronix's corporate public relations department before joining Waggener Edstrom in 1987.
Prior to opening Kaufer Miller Communications, Miller most recently served as a public relations manager for Aldus Corp., where she was responsible for strategic planning and execution for the company's product public relations, including the recent introduction of PageMaker 5.0. Miller also worked at Waggener Edstrom on the agency's Microsoft account team. Additionally, Miller operated her own consulting firm, Miller Marketing Communication, where she spearheaded the introduction of Asymetrix's first product, ToolBook 1.0, and has also worked for Cunningham Communication and Microrim Inc. in various public relations capacities.
Kaufer and Miller said that the agency will be announcing its first clients shortly as negotiations continue with a number of Seattle and Bay Area companies. Kaufer Miller Communications is located at 3605 132nd Ave. SE, Suite 211, the telephone number is 206-644-1390, and the fax number is 206-644-1588.
