KATHY LINGG NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
FOR NETWORK TELEVISION DIVISION OF PARAMOUNT PICTURES
HOLLYWOOD, Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Kathy Lingg has been named senior vice president of long-form programming for the Network Television Division of Paramount Pictures, it was announced today. She will report to John S. Pike, president of the division.
In the newly created position, which reflects the division's increased emphasis on supplying all forms of programming to a worldwide marketplace, Lingg will be responsible for overseeing development and production of telefilms and miniseries.
"Kathy's extensive experience in motion picture development will lend a fresh perspective to television movies and miniseries," Pike said. "We look foward to her talents and contributions in developing 'franchise' movies and miniseries utilizing our varied roster of acting, writing, producing and directing talent."
Prior to joining Paramount, Lingg worked for seven years at TriStar Pictures, most recently serving as senior vice president of production. During her tenure, she oversaw development and production on numerous feature films, including "The Freshman," starring Marlon Brando and Matthew Broderick; and "Chances Are," with Cybill Sheperd, Ryan O'Neal and Robert Downey Jr.
From 1983-1985, Lingg was vice president of production for Universal. Previously, she held various positions in development -- creative executive with Martin Elfand Productions (1982-83), story editor for Richard Roth Productions (1982-83) and east coast story editor for Universal from 1976 to 1980.
Lingg is a graduate of Smith College, where she holds a bachelor of arts degree in English.
