Few drivers have experienced the kind of success at Mesa Marin Raceway Mesa Marin Raceway was a high banked half mile racetrack in Bakersfield, California that was demolished following the 2005 racing season to make way for housing developments in the foothills of northeast Bakersfield.  in Bakersfield as M.K. Kanke.

The NASCAR NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing), organization that sanctions American stock-car races, est. 1948. ``I have run a partial schedule the last several years and I am excited to be back full-time and ready to return to Mesa Marin,'' said Kanke, a Kennedy High graduate. ``Mesa Marin always produces great races. I plan to be there at the end.''

The NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series, will also be at Mesa Marin on Saturday for the Lucas Oil Lucas Oil Products is a company that sells automotive oil and additives. It was founded by trucker Forrest Lucas in 1989.

The company is the sponsor of several NASCAR, NHRA and Indy Racing League events.
 150. It is the first time Mesa Marin Raceway will host a West Series and Southwest Series race on the same day.

Canyon Country's Greg Pursley, Woodland Hills' Nick Joanides and Agua Dulce's Bob Lyon Bob Lyon, an American politician, is a former Kansas State Senator from the city of Winchester. A civil engineer, Lyon is a graduate of the University of Virginia and George Washington University.  are also entered in the Southwest Series race.

Only one driver, Burney Lamar of West Sacramento, is entered in both races. He won the Southwest Series season opener at Phoenix International Raceway Phoenix International Raceway, or just PIR, is a one mile tri-oval race track located in Avondale, Arizona. It opened in 1964, as the new home of major open-wheel racing in the Phoenix area, replacing the track at the Arizona State Fairgrounds as an automobile racing venue.  in January and will be driving a West Series entry owned by NASCAR Nextel Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick in the Mesa Marin race.

In 11 Southwest Series starts at Mesa Marin Raceway, Lamar has recorded only one top-five finish.
