It is located approximately 40 miles east of Los Angeles on the site of the former Kaiser Steel mill. .

He was fifth in the NASCAR Busch Series The NASCAR Busch Series is a stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR. It was quite a busy week for Kahne. He didn't exactly get a chance to enjoy all that Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  has to offer, spending most of his time at the track in Fontana.

But he was able to mix in some time to visit Northern California, mainly to test at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma (formerly known as Sears Point). Traveling across the country with his NASCAR teams, Kahne gets an opportunity to visit places he wouldn't otherwise get a chance to visit.

``I see some of it sometimes, but a lot of time we're so busy at the race track with either Busch or Cup or both I don't get to see as much,'' said Kahne, driver of the No. 9 Dodge for Evernham Motorsports. ``I need to see a little bit more, but I enjoy racing so on the race weekends, that's all I'm thinking about.''

It was sort of a homecoming for Kahne, who is from Enumclaw, Wash. Fontana and Sonoma are about as close as he gets to his hometown to race these days.

``I always enjoy going to the West Coast because that's where I'm from. Other than that, I enjoy everywhere,'' Kahne said. ``We tested at Sears Point last week and went out to wine country and Napa Valley out there. It's really nice out there, a little different than the Midwest and other parts of the country.''
