 AIRLINES
PALO ALTO, Calif., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- James Z. Kagiliery, a 23-year airline management veteran, has been named director of postal operations for Emery Worldwide Airlines based in Indianapolis.
The announcement was made today by Willard H. Scherrer Jr., senior vice president and general manager of Emery Worldwide Airlines.
In his new position, Kagiliery, 45, becomes EWA's senior field operations director in Indianapolis with day-to-day responsibility for management of the company's contract with the U.S. Postal Service for the Express and Priority Mail air transportation network.
Kagiliery oversees all aspects of USPS-related hub and airline operations including load planning, ramp sort, aircraft schedule, flight control and vehicle maintenance as well as coordination of ground support functions at 31 destination airport stations across the country.
Under its current USPS contract, EWA operates the mail hub at the Indianapolis International Airport and the dedicated Express Mail fleet of 22 aircraft serving the United States and Puerto Rico.
Kagiliery joined EWA in July 1989 as senior ramp supervisor and was promoted to manager of ramp operations in September. In early 1990, he was elevated to senior manager of hub operations, his position prior to promotion to his current assignment. He replaces James K. Lampe, who resigned to pursue other business interests.
Before joining EWA, Kagiliery spent 15 years in sales, operations and management positions with Dyncorp/CFE Services, a nationwide airline service company providing group handling and related aircraft and airport management services. He began his airline industry career with Trans World Airlines in 1969.
