K-TRON BOARD ELECTS NEW DIRECTOR

 CHERRY HILL, N.J., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- K-Tron International, Inc. (NASDAQ: KTII) announced today that Jean Head Sisco has been appointed as a director, filling a board vacancy that has existed since l990.
 Sisco is a partner in Sisco Associates, a management consulting firm based in Washington which specializes in international risk and trade analysis. She serves on a number of corporate boards, and is the chairman of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
 Board Chairman Leo C. Beebe commented, "Jean Sisco brings a wealth of experience in international trade, human resources and corporate governance to K-Tron's Board. Since the overseas market is such an important part of our business, K-Tron will particularly benefit from her knowledge and experience in international affairs."
 Sisco began her career in retailing where her special areas of concentration were in management of human resources and international trade. She worked for Sears, HP Silman, Marshall Field's and Woodward & Lothrop, last serving as Woodward & Lothrop's vice president for personnel and labor relations.
 After 24 years with Woodward & Lothrop, she left in l974 to work as a consultant for government and public affairs with the American Retail Federation. In 1979 she founded Sisco Associates.
 Sisco is a corporate director of Textron, Inc., Santa Fe Pacific Corporation, Chiquita Brands International, The Neiman-Marcus Group, Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company, Washington Mutual Investors Fund, American Funds Tax-Exempt Series-I, and the Growth Fund of Washington, Inc. She was also the first woman director of the Metropolitan Washington Board of Trade.
 Active in civic affairs, Sisco is the treasurer of Reading is Fundamental, a director of the National Conference of Christians & Jews, and past president of the Washington Arts Society and the Washington Ballet. She is an officer of International Women's Forum and a trustee of the Corinna Higginson Trust.
 She has been appointed by three presidents to serve on Presidential Advisory Committees on vocational training and international trade. Bryant College awarded her an honorary doctor of business administration degree.
 A native of Texas, Sisco graduated from the University of Louisville, Ky., with a B.A. in economics and commerce and received her MBA from the University of Chicago.
 She is married to Dr. Joseph J. Sisco, former undersecretary of State and president of American University and now a partner in Sisco Associates.
 K-Tron International, Inc., through its subsidiaries is a major producer of gravimetric and volumetric feeders, blenders and related process control and material handling equipment, with facilities and customers throughout the world.
