K-III MAGAZINES PROMOTES BRIAN BECKWITH, JANICE GROSSMAN AND CHRISTINA WAGNER TO SENIOR POSITIONS

 NEW YORK, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Harry A. McQuillen, president and CEO of K-III Magazines, recently announced that Janice Grossman has been named vice president and group publisher of K-III Magazines. In her new position, Ms. Grossman will be responsible for managing the group sales function and will remain group publisher of Seventeen, Soap Opera Digest and Soap Opera Weekly. Ms. Grossman's other positions at K-III Magazines have included publisher of New Woman and New York Magazine.
 Mr. McQuillen also announced that Brian Beckwith has been named vice president - operations. Since joining K-III Magazines in 1988, Mr. Beckwith has held several positions, including circulation director, vice president - subscriptions and vice president - circulation. In his new position, Mr. Beckwith will oversee the management of circulation, manufacturing and systems.
 In addition to her current responsibilities as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of K-III Magazines, Christina Wagner will assume management of the classified sales operation. Prior to joining K-III Magazines in 1991, Ms. Wagner held several positions at Macmillan Publishing Company, including senior vice president/chief financial officer, vice president operational finance, vice president finance - School Division and vice president corporate development.
