K-FUEL INC. ANNOUNCES PLANS TO UPGRADE WYOMING FACILITY FOR COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION

NEW YORK, April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- K-Fuel, Inc. (OTC: KFUL), announced today plans to upgrade its Gillette, Wyo., research and development facility for commercial operation. The 12-month project is expected to cost $25,000,000 and provide output in excess of 325,000 tons of K-Fuel product annually to meet customer needs.
K-Fuel, Inc., has signed an agreement with a major New York investment banking firm for financing the Wyoming facility project.
The company's exclusive product developed at the Wyoming R&D center is called "K-Fuel" and is based on a patented technology that converts low grade fuels, such as sub-bituminous and lignite coal, and peat, into a high-BTU fuel that can be blended or burned alone to provide environmentally safe and cost-effective fuels for utility and industrial users.
K-Fuel, Inc., officials said the company will be producing "K-Fuel" products under joint ventures with the Czech Republic and Waste Management International. The company will also begin joint ventures using the patented "K-Fuel" process with First Dominion Holdings, Inc., and with Science Applications International for environmental cleanup projects in Mexico, Spain and Taiwan.
Final engineering plans and design reports for the Wyoming facility upscale project are being conducted and evaluated by Harris Engineering of Denver. The project is expected to realize approximately $12,000,000 annually in increased revenues for K-Fuel, Inc., and enable the company to qualify for the Section 29 alternative fuels tax credit valued at $7,500,000 per year (in 1991 dollars), company officials said.
