K MART CORPORATION TO PROTECT 200 IN-STORE HOME ELECTRONICS DEPARTMENTS
 WITH CHECKPOINT SYSTEMS' ELECTRONIC ARTICLE MERCHANDISING SYSTEMS
 THOROFARE, N.J., Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Checkpoint Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHEK), today announced an initial order from K mart Corporation (NYSE: KM) to install Electronic Article Merchandising (EAM) (SM) systems in 200 home electronics departments in K mart stores throughout the United States.
 Many of the products in these departments, including compact discs and audio cassettes, will arrive at K mart stores already protected by Checkpoint's disposable security targets. The targets will be applied at the manufacturing or distribution level as a part of Checkpoint's Impulse(SM) program.
 Checkpoint Systems, Inc., is a leading provider of loss prevention solutions to retailers worldwide. The company's Impulse program coordinates retailer and manufacturer logistics to embed its non-contact deactivatable security targets into products or product packaging before they reach the retail level.
