Jupitermedia purchases stock photos and magazines.

Jupitermedia Corp. (New York) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Creatas/Design Graphics, Inc. (Peoria, IL) from management for $38,175,000 in cash and 1,483,073 restricted shares of Jupitermedia common stock. The deal is expected to close in March.

Design Graphics Group (DGG) and sister unit PictureQuest Acquisition Co. offer a variety of resources for the graphic design community including: royalty-free and rights-managed stock image content; royalty-free subscription image services; creative services events and training; and, magazines and newsletters. The two magazines include STEP Inside Design Magazine, published six times a year for designers in all fields, and Dynamic Graphics Magazine, published six times a year for graphic artists and other professional users of desktop publishing tools. DGG's two newsletters include SBS Digital Design and Photoshop Fix.

DGG also includes PictureQuest, a unit that distributes more than 500,000 royalty-free and rights-managed images from over 50 photo agencies and provides images through its professional subscription images service, Liquid Library. In addition, the company offers design workshops and seminars through Dynamic Graphics Training.

DGG chairman/ceo David Moffly said that "becoming a part of Jupitermedia is a logical next step for Dynamic Graphics ... our companies have similar objectives and business models (and) the combination makes both much stronger in the stock image business."

Jupitermedia offers over five million stock images online through such brands as Comstock Images, ThinkStock Images and ThinkStock Footage, all purchased by Jupitermedia in 2004, as well as Photos.com, Ablestock.com and Clipart.com.
