JupiterMedia launches DatabaseJournal.com, games products & seminars div.JupiterMedia Corp. (Darien, CT), formerly INT Media, has begun the production of DatabaseJournal.com, an online information service for database professionals. Jupiter said the new site integrates content and builds upon the success of a number of company Web sites and email newsletters covering various database technologies. DatabaseJournal is designed to "give database developers and managers a single Web address to find the solutions they need," Jupiter said, and covers the entire database sector with information on Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, IBM DB2, Sybase, My-SQL and other systems. Current Jupiter Web sites and email newsletters covering database technologies include DBASupport.com, Swynk.com, SQLCourse.com and SQLCourse2.com. Also, the company has launched Jupiter Webinars, a new division that offers live Web-based educational seminars on a variety of IT and Internet-related business issues. Jupiter said the seminars will be available free to "pre-qualified" professionals via broadband and dial-up access. The first seminar will occur on Nov. 21 and will cover content management. The second seminar will cover e-mail marketing on Dec. 5. Finally, Jupitermedia has entered the electronic entertainment industry with the launch of three new services for professionals in that field. They include a new advisory service from Jupiter Research, an electronic gaming industry news site and a trade show. The new research initiative, "Personal Computer & Console Games," will offer research on the game space for video and PC game vendors, media companies and platform providers. The new Web site, GamesMarketWatch.com, is designed to be an online resource for industry news about next-generation, Internet-enabled consoles and related technologies. It will include news, company profiles and product reviews. The company will launch the "GameMarketWatch Forum Conference & Expo," a new trade show for the electronics gaming industry, in April, 2003. Jupitermedia produces over 150 Web sites and email newsletters for IT and related industry professionals. Other units include Jupiter Research and Jupiter Events, acquired earlier in 2002. |
