(stock symbol) ) today announced that it has been awarded a multi-year contract by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC SAIC - http://saic.com. ) for all edge and core IP/MPLS IP/MPLS Internet Protocol/Multi-Protocol Label Switching  routers for the Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA 1. (body) DISA - Defense Information Systems Agency.

GIG-BE, a worldwide switched optical network with 10-Gbps OC-192 or faster connections, initially will serve Defense Department users at 100 sites around the globe. Juniper Networks expects to deploy its M- and T- series routing platforms in early 2004. These products seamlessly integrate the capabilities of high performance routers, firewalls, Ethernet and Frame/ATM switches, VPN (Virtual Private Network) A private network that is configured within a public network (a carrier's network or the Internet) in order to take advantage of the economies of scale and management facilities of large networks.  appliances, packet shapers, and traffic monitoring and analysis devices for higher performing and more easily managed networks.
