Juniper Networks Routers Achieve Metro Ethernet Forum Certification to Deliver Carrier Ethernet Services.

Juniper's M- and T-Series Support the Latest Specifications from Leading Ethernet Industry Consortium

(NASDAQ:JNPR) today announced that Iometrix, an independent testing lab, has certified that the Juniper M- and T-Series routers are able to deliver Carrier Ethernet services based on the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) technical specifications MEF 9 and MEF 14 for scalability and Quality of Service (QoS).

The MEF's Carrier Ethernet Certification Program is designed to ensure that global equipment and services comply with MEF standards and pave the way for eventual interoperability. MEF 9 tests the conformance of Ethernet Services at the User-Network Interface (UNI) where the Subscriber and Service Provider portions of the network meet. MEF 9 defines a series of tests to verify that Services delivered to the Subscriber across the UNI are conformant to MEF technical specifications. MEF 14 provides solid QoS backed by Service Level specifications for Carrier Ethernet services, enabling service providers to deliver Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to their corporate customers. MEF 14 also provides performance and QoS metrics for multiplay services including video. By certifying its compliance with these specifications, Juniper's routing platforms have demonstrated interoperability with other equipment required to deliver these advanced services.
