 firewall/virtual private network (VPN (Virtual Private Network) A private network that is configured within a public network (a carrier's network or the Internet) in order to take advantage of the economies of scale and management facilities of large networks. ) systems with IDP are able to protect customers against all of the new Microsoft vulnerabilities announced today.

Juniper Networks' IDP systems running operating code versions 3.0r4 and above, and the ISG firewall/VPN systems with IDP provide coverage for the following vulnerabilities disclosed today:

--MS06-004 -- Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer

--MS06-005 -- Vulnerability in Windows Media Player Digital jukebox software for Windows from Microsoft that plays a variety of audio, video and streaming formats including MP3, WMA, CD audio and MIDI. Starting with Version 6.2 in 1999, the Windows Media Rights Manager was added for securing copyrighted content.  Could Allow Remote Code Execution

--MS06-006 -- Vulnerability in Windows Media Player Plug-in Could Allow Remote Code Execution

--MS06-007 -- Vulnerability in TCP/IP TCP/IP
 in full Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol

--MS06-008 -- Vulnerability in Web Client Service Could Allow Remote Code Execution

--MS06-009 -- Vulnerability in the Korean Input Method Editor An input method editor (IME) is a program or operating system component that allows computer users to enter characters and symbols not found on their keyboard. This, for instance, allows the user of a Western keyboard to input Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Indic characters.  Could Allow Elevation of Privilege
