Juniper Networks Enhances IPTV and Multiplay Offerings with HP Integrated Service Management Solution; Combination of Juniper Routers with HP OpenView OSS Software Improves Efficiency, Security and Scalability of IPTV and Multiplay Networks.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:JNPR) today announced that it has teamed with HP to simplify the management of advanced IPTV and multiplay service networks. Using Juniper Networks E-, M- and T-series routing platforms and security solutions with HP OpenView OSS software, the two companies have created a joint solution that provides customers with end-to-end management of IPTV networks, including fault, configuration, accounting, performance, and security (FCAPS). The combined solution delivers advanced real-time capabilities that enable the network to dynamically adjust to accommodate changing service types, network capacity and customer demands.

In addition to the joint solution, the two companies have collaborated on two separate IPTV customer solution centers, one in HP's Telecom Solution Center in Richardson, Texas and the other in Juniper's facility in Westford, Mass. Both facilities include Juniper routing and security platforms and HP OpenView OSS network and service management software as part of a complete IPTV test environment. The customer solution centers are linked using Juniper Networks security appliances to allow customers access to a wider range of equipment and larger scale network for testing and demonstration.

Juniper Networks and HP will provide consulting and integration services to help customers deploy a comprehensive, well-managed IPTV solution.

Using standards-based interfaces, Juniper Networks routers and HP OpenView OSS software exchange detailed network, application and customer information in real-time, giving network operators unmatched knowledge of their network performance. The solution can also reduce operations costs by providing faster trouble-shooting with real-time fault detection and root cause analysis.

HP OpenView OSS software furnishes a complete picture of the IPTV environment including customer premise equipment, edge and core network, and head-end equipment, including port activation and utilization levels. The HP OpenView OSS software effectively activates all forms of multiplay services, monitors performance, diagnoses and predicts problems, and collects usage information across a multi-vendor network. The HP OpenView OSS software products include: Service Activator, Network Node Manager, Performance Insight, Route Analytics Management System, and Internet Usage Manager.

The HP OpenView OSS products are part of the HP Integrated Service Management (ISM), the company's comprehensive blueprint for business and operational support systems (BSS and OSS).
