Julia back to make history; MEET THE CHRISTMAS STARS The Lark Rise To Candleford Christmas Special airs on BBC One on December 28.

WHEN it comes to Sunday night Sunday Night, later named Michelob Presents Night Music, was an NBC late-night television show which aired for two seasons between 1988 and 1990 as a showcase for jazz and eclectic musical artists.  telly, the schedule is usually filled with feel-good productions, designed to help the viewer relax. This year none did that so well as Lark Rise to Candleford Lark Rise to Candleford is a trilogy of semi-autobiographical novels about the English countryside, written by Flora Thompson, and first published in that form in 1945. .

Among the star-studded cast was Julia Sawalha Julia Sawalha (born 9th September 1968) is a British actress best known for her roles of Lynda Day (editor of The Junior Gazette in Press Gang), Saffron Monsoon in Absolutely Fabulous and Lydia Bennet in the 1995 miniseries of Pride and Prejudice , who made her name in cult children's TV show Press Gang and as Saffron in Absolutely Fabulous.

With Lark Rise returning for a second series, Julia is happy to be back in the role of post mistress Dorcas Lane.

"I just love doing costume drama and recreating history," she says. "It's a really beautiful series and people enjoy it. People stop me in the street to tell me how much they love the series, so you feel like you've done a worthwhile job."

To kick-start the second series, viewers will tune in to a late 19th century Christmas, replete with snow-filled scenes and carol singers. And for Dorcas, the new series brings the prospect of romance with new character James Rowland, played by Jason Merrells.
