Julia B. Fee's foray into arts and crafts.


In the company's first year of participation in the Annual Scarsdale Halloween Window Painting Contest, Julia B. Fee Real Estate offered a creative alternative to the traditional window painting which has, in the past, become the norm for other corporate sponsors of the event.

In lieu of Instead of; in place of; in substitution of. It does not mean in addition to.  office windows, which are traditionally used as the canvas for the children to paint on, Randall Katchis, principal of Julia B. Fee Real Estate, handmade hand·made

 10 easels using Plexiglas, to allow the children to create their artwork for submission in the contest. The Julia B. Fee Real Estate office in Scarsdale, which boasts beautiful Tudor style Tudor style, descriptive of the English architecture and decoration of the first half of the 16th cent., prevailing during the reigns (1485–1558) of Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, and Mary I.  windows, has prevented the firm from participating in past Halloween Window Painting Contests.

Hosted by the Scarsdale Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Scarsdale Recreation Department, the painting contest is an all-day event which concludes with the village's annual Halloween parade in Chase Park, located in the center of the village.

The event was held on Sunday, October 24, outside the Julia B. Fee Scarsdale office in the village of Scarsdale. The real estate firm also donated do·nate

Grant Knief, a third grader in Greenacres Elementary School elementary school: see school.  and the son of Julia B. Fee broker Dawn Knief, was one of the first place winners in this year's painting contest.
