Judges Vote to Merge Courts.


Ending nearly nine years of controversy and speculation, the Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Superior and 24 Municipal Court systems will merge See mail merge and concatenate.  into a single Superior Court effective Jan. 22.

It took three votes over the years to get it done. Previously, the Municipal Court judges voted overwhelmingly to merge, but Superior Court judges didn't did·n't

Under unification (programming) unification - The generalisation of pattern matching that is the logic programming equivalent of instantiation in logic. When two terms are to be unified, they are compared. , the Superior Court will increase its number of judges from 303 to 563 and its number of employees from about 2,300 to nearly 5,000. But it will have to handle nine times more cases.
