(株式会社常陽銀行 in Ibaragi has adopted its proprietary finger vein authentication system The combination of authentication server and authenticator, which may be separate devices or both reside in the same unit such as an access point or network access server. The authentication server contains a database of user names, passwords and policies, and the authenticator physically and will begin offering a biometrics service for customers on March 22. The bank will issue the Joyo IC Ace Card, a cash card embedded with an IC chip, to its customers, and replace all of its automated teller machines automated teller machine (ATM), device used by bank customers to process account transactions. Typically, a user inserts into the ATM a special plastic card that is encoded with information on a magnetic strip. (ATMs) with finger vein authentication system terminals provided by Hitachi.
