Journey to the Abode of the Gods! China Southern - China's Largest Airline, Begins Service to Kathmandu, Nepal.


GUANGZHOU, China -- China Southern Airlines, (NYSE:ZNH) (HKSE:1055) (SHA:600029) - www.cs-air.com/en - with the largest and most technically advanced aircraft fleet in The People's Republic of China, is pleased to announce that today it has started twice weekly, direct service between Kathmandu, Nepal Nepal (nəpôl`), officially Kingdom of Nepal, independent kingdom (2005 est. pop. 27,677,000), c.54,000 sq mi (139,860 sq km), central Asia. Landlocked and isolated by the Himalayas, Nepal is bordered on the west, south, and east by India, and on the N by the Tibet region of China. Katmandu is the capital. and Guangzhou.

China Southern Airlines will be operating this service every Monday and Friday from the new Guangzhou International Airport and Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). The service will be offered with a Boeing 757-200 aircraft with the following schedule:

Tribhuvan International Airport, situated 5.56 km east of Kathmandu City is in the heart of the Kathmandu Valley. TIA is amid the confluence of three ancient cities: Kathmandu, Bhaktapur Bhaktapur (bŭk`təpr') or Bhadgaon (bäd`gă'ŭn), city (1991 pop. and Patan Patan (pät`ən) or Lalitpur (ləlĭt`pr), city (1991 pop. 115,865), central Nepal, in the Katmandu valley, c., all rich in their art and culture, not to mention their deep heritage of temples and pagodas.
