American social reformer and public official. As U.S. secretary of labor (1933-1945) she was the first woman to hold a cabinet position. died Tuesday, December 16, 2003. Perkins held
numerous patents and was a major contributor to articles and books about
the pulp and paper industry The global pulp and paper industry is dominated by North American (United States, Canada), northern European (Finland, Sweden) and East Asian countries (such as Japan). Australasia and Latin America also have significant pulp and paper industries. . He was named a TAPPI TAPPI Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry Fellow in 1985.
