Cirasuolo served as president of the New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The region is thought to have been so named by Capt.  Association of School Superintendents in 1993-94 and as president of AASA in 1999-2000 and was honored as the 1993 Connecticut Superintendent of the Year. He holds a doctorate from Teachers College at Columbia University.
