Joseph Amico Joins UNICCO as Director of Operations.

UNICCO(R) Service Company, one of North America's largest integrated facilities services outsourcing companies, has hired Joseph C. Amico as director of operations for the New England region. Based in the company's Boston office, Amico is responsible for account management and new business development.

Reporting to the vice president of operations, Amico manages the day-to-day operations of several UNICCO contracts through a team of operations managers. He manages budgets, screens and hires personnel, and ensures compliance with company, state and federal regulations. He is instrumental in starting up new accounts by closely managing the resources needed to quickly bring the accounts up to speed.

Amico was most recently president at J.S. Services of Danvers, Mass. He previously held executive management positions at other facilities services companies including NEEC Corp. of Woburn, Mass. and Eastern Building Services Corp. of Lowell, Mass. At each company he was responsible for account management, budgeting, client satisfaction and retention. Prior to joining the facilities services outsourcing industry, Amico was at Wang Laboratories, headquartered in Lowell, Mass., where he held plant facility manager, project/construction manager and energy manager/contract administrator positions.

Amico holds several licenses and certifications, including Massachusetts and New Hampshire Master Electrician licenses, Massachusetts construction supervisor license, ISO 9000 certificate of completion, and the registered building service manager (RBSM) certification from the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI). He is also a member of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and the Building Owners Management Association (BOMA). He lives in Dunstable, Mass.
