Joseph Aguayo was appointed president and chief executive officer of Woodland Hills-based ALS Association The ALS Association is a group devoted to fighting amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (aka "Lou Gehrig's disease"). The group describes itself as being the only not-for-profit health organization devoted to leading the fight against the disease. . Previously, Aguayo served as secretary general of the International Federation of Multiple Schlerosis Societies. The ALS Association is a non-profit health organization dedicated to fighting against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) (ā'mīətrōf`ik, sklĭrō`sĭs) or motor neuron disease, , often called Lou Gehrig's disease Lou Geh·rig's disease
