BARRICK GOLD/JORDEX RESOURCES JOINT VENTURE CONTINUES DEFINITION OF ANOMALOUS GOLD HORIZON AT GUAPARUTU

Results from the first four lines of mechanized auger bedrock sampling in the Guaparutu area have defined an anomalous gold and associated pathfinder elements horizon extending over 600 metres in strike length and to widths of 100 metres. The anomaly remains open along strike in both directions, over a twenty kilometre long auriferous trend as defined by stream sediment BLEG and HMC sample results. The anomalous horizon has returned individual bedrock sample results to as high as 3.7 grams per tonne gold, with elevated associated arsenic. In addition to the on-going auger sampling program, a detailed ground magnetics survey is also currently being completed over the Guaparutu and Juan Miguel claim blocks, covering in excess of 300 line kilometres.

On the Chacho Lejos claim group, located 35 kilometres north-east of the Guaparutu area, grid work is in progress in advance of a detailed ground magnetics survey slated for late-June. Previous work on the property has defined a ten kilometre strike length auriferous trend based on BLEG and HMC stream sediment results, with maximum sample values to 83 ppb and 139,000 ppb gold respectively. Two major shear systems have been identified within that auriferous trend, based on aeromagnetic data, and the ground survey should allow for more precise delineation of those systems. Regional BLEG sampling to the south-west of the claim block has returned strongly anomalous gold values to 53 ppb, and a new claim block ("LA INSPIRADA") covering some 19,925 hectares has recently been staked by the Barrick/Jordex JV to cover that anomaly. With the new acquisition, the Barrick/Jordex JV now extends over 125,000 hectares, covering four areas of prospective stratigraphy in Eastern Bolivia.

Reverse circulation drilling programs are currently scheduled for early August at Guaparutu, and subsequently at Chaco Lejos.

JORDEX CONTINUES EXPLORATION FOR ITS OWN ACCOUNT, AND ANNOUNCES NEW PROPERTY ACQUISITIONS.

Jordex has recently completed the first phase stream sediment sampling program over its recently acquired FABIANA property, also located in the Pre-Cambrian Shield of Eastern Bolivia. Over 70 BLEG samples were collected during the program and will be processed through June. The property covers some 8,050 hectares and lies on a major NW-SE striking regional shear cutting Sunsas age greenstone assemblages equivalent to the Aguapei rocks of the Pontes e Lacerda belt to the north-east in Brazil. At Ponces e Lacerda, Echo Bay Mines is currently operating the San Vincente and San Francisco Mines.

Elsewhere in Bolivia, Jordex has recently expanded its property portfolio by acquiring the "EL BANDITO" concession, covering some 7,800 hectares. The concession is located approximately 50 kilometres east of Puquio Norte, on the eastern flank of the San Julian Greenstone Belt. The property covers an area of alluvial gold workings, and is strategically located immediately south of the EL LENTE prospect, currently being drilled by Renison Gold Fields.

In the altiplano region of western Bolivia, Jordex is mobilizing geological and geophysical crews to the 7,100 hectare Rancho Orkho properties, to complete mapping, magnetics, and induced polarization programs prior to mobilizing a diamond drill to the property in late August. Previous soil geochemical surveys completed by Jordex on the property have defined a strong silver-polymetallic multi-element anomaly measuring some two kilometres in strike with widths to 500 metres. The mapping and geophysical surveys will help to delineate zones of shearing and associated sulphide mineralization within the limits of the soil anomaly. Previous sampling of surface dumps has returned values to 3.17 gpt gold and 401 gpt silver, as well as 1.12 gpt gold and 1,423 gpt silver from historic adits on the property.
