Jordan bags top Arab award.

Amman, Oct. 25 (Petra) -- Jordan has bagged the top award in "Made in the Arab World" competition for the project "Compact Solar System for Heating and Cooling Residential Buildings". The competition, which concluded recently, was sponsored by Intel and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Supervisor of the project Dr Zaer Abu Hammour from University of Jordan said the project was a graduation project for a number of students studying Mechatronics Engineering. The project, he added, was carried out in two stages; the first was using solar energy for heating purposes, while the other was for cooling purposes.
