Jordan bags top Arab award.

Amman, Oct. 25 (Petra) -- Jordan has bagged the top award in "Made in the Arab World" competition for the project "Compact Solar System for Heating and Cooling Residential Buildings". The competition, which concluded recently, was sponsored by Intel and United Nations Industrial Development Organization United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), specialized agency of the United Nations. Headquartered in Vienna, it was organized in 1966 and made a specialized UN agency in 1985. UNIDO's mission is to promote industrial progress in developing nations.  (UNIDO). It is located in the Jubeiha Area, District of University, Amman.  said the project was a graduation project for a number of students studying Mechatronics (MECHAnics elecTRONICS) The combination of mechanical and electronic systems. Embracing robotics, industrial control systems and human interfaces in numerous disciplines, mechatronics is a major step beyond "electromechanical," in which only electricity is required.  Engineering. The project, he added, was carried out in two stages; the first was using solar energy for heating purposes, while the other was for cooling purposes.
