, Edmiston Group Inc., which specializes in mergers and acquisitions for the media and information industries, reported that, in the newsletter publishing sector, the first quarter of 2007 saw a whopping 197.5 percent increase in the value of M & As over the same period a year ago.

The number of deals in that period fell from 5 in 2006 to 2 in 2007, but the value increased from $40 million to $119 million.
