 - Marist High School product Meredith Jones, who recently finished her sophomore season at Baylor University Baylor University, mainly at Waco, Tex.; coeducational; chartered and opened 1845 by Baptists (see Baylor, Robert E. B.) at Independence, moved 1886 and absorbed Waco Univ. (chartered 1861). The library has a noted Robert Browning collection. , shot a 2-over-par 74 and was five strokes off the lead in a tie for third Monday after the first round of stroke play in the Oregon Amateur Championship golf tournament.

Area hosts regional

Special Olympics Special Olympics

International sports program for people with intellectual disability. It provides year-round training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type summer and winter sports for participants.
 

The Eugene-Springfield area will host more than 500 athletes in the 2004 Special Olympics Oregon golf, softball and gymnastics regional competition Saturday.

RiverRidge Golf Complex, Shasta Park and the National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics will be the venues for the day's competitions.
