The licenses, in Nanjing and Shenzhen, bring to 10 the number of cities in which the joint venture is authorized au·thor·ize tr.v. au·thor·ized, au·thor·iz·ing, au·thor·iz·es 1. To grant authority or power to. 2. To give permission for; sanction: to do business--making it China's largest foreign life insurer in terms of licenses. The venture will offer a range of life products in the two markets. These include accident, health and life policies. Nanjing, with a population of more than 5.8 million people, is about 200 miles west of Shanghai.
