The AATC is a cross section of travel planners, tour companies, travel agents and bus operators that serve the African-American community. The conference provides the travel industry's best meeting to do business with the growing African-American group travel market. 2006 Breeders' Cup The Breeders' Cup World Championships is an annual series of Grade I thoroughbred horse races operated by Breeders' Cup Limited, a company formed in 1982 by a consortium of North American racing organizations, led by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association. Thoroughbred racing's richest event returns to Louisville and historic Churchill Downs in October 2006. This annual event culminates the racing season and crowns "the best of the best." This annual meeting is recognized as the premier public showcase for the $20 billion shooting sports industry. Ryder Cup Valhalla Golf Club Valhalla Golf Club, located in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, is a private golf club designed by professional golfer Jack Nicklaus. The course, which sits on a 486-acre (197 ha) property on Shelbyville Road just outside the Gene Snyder Freeway (Louisville's second bypass), was will host the 37th Ryder Cup in September 2008. Considered one of the premier sporting events in the world, the Cup is hosted alternately by Europe and the United States biennially, which means the US only plays host every four years. Only 17 courses in the United States have been sites for the Match, which was founded on prestige rather than prize money. 2009 American Legion American Legion, national association of male and female war veterans, founded (1919) in Paris. Membership is open to veterans of World Wars I and II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The American Legion will hold its 91st Annual National Convention in Louisville in August 2009. Congress chartered the American Legion in 1919, and today it is the world's largest and most respected Veterans service organization with nearly three million members, in nearly 15,000 American Legion Posts worldwide. |
