Johns Manville Introduces New Line of Seal-It(TM) Housewrap Tape & Flashings To Further Strengthen and Seal the Performance of Gorilla Wrap(TM) Housewrap.

DENVER -- Builders can be even more confident about the strength and performance of Gorilla Wrap[TM] Housewrap from Johns Manville (JM) when it is installed with a new line of housewrap tape and flashings called Seal-It[TM] from Johns Manville. Specifically formulated to adhere to Gorilla Wrap, Seal-It enhances the building envelope by tightly sealing housewrap seams and window and door enclosures. Seal-It[TM] Housewrap Tape and Flashing are being introduced at the National Association of Home Builders 2007 International Builders' Show (Booth #W659), February 7-10, 2007, in Orlando, Fla.

Seal-It Housewrap Tape consists of a single-coated polyester film with an aggressive, tacky acrylic adhesive that is highly effective in creating durable, long-lasting seams and seals that reduce air infiltration and increase energy efficiency. Seal-It Housewrap Tape also has a unique serrated edge for easy tear.

When used in combination with Gorilla Wrap from Johns Manville - a non-perforated, nonwoven polymeric housewrap material that already provides superior air resistance that is eight times better than the current industry-leading housewrap - Seal-It makes Gorilla Wrap even more stable and strong by creating a greater weather-resistant air and vapor barrier system with ultra-low air infiltration. Gorilla Wrap's superior strength, with a tear resistance that is 300 percent higher than the leading housewrap, makes it one of the most durable housewrap products on the market.

The Seal-It Flashing line consists of straight and flexible flashing. The products are self adhering and form a permanent waterproofing air and vapor seal around doors and windows that lowers heating and air conditioning costs and gives homeowners peace of mind about air leaks and moisture intrusion. Seal-It Flashing has superior adhesion qualities and is the only flashing that passed hurricane-level windblown rain tests. Seal-It Flashings also create strong seals to a variety of building products.

Builders will benefit from Seal-It being a butyl-blend flashing that uniquely offers the benefits of a butyl material, allowing installation at temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit, at a better value than other butyl products on the market. Seal-It Flashing can be installed and left exposed for 120 days without ultraviolet (UV) degradation.
